Casual Library

Technician staff work on an on call basis, filling in for school Library Technician staff on a short term or long term basis as required. Develop, organize and maintain a collection of diverse library materials Deliver library services such as adding copies, bar coding, spine labeling, stamping, jacketing, reinforcing, circulation, shelving, filing, repairing, weeding, tracking inter-library loan transactions, maintaining periodicals, prepare displays, maintain inventory, set up and demonstrate proper use of equipment Library Technician Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent Three months experience with the Dewey Decimal Classification System, and cataloguing procedures according to AACR2 and SEARS Subject Headings, MARC records, standard library cataloging basics Computer and audio-visual equipment knowledge and experience Positive interpersonal and artistic skills to promote library Ability to work under minimal supervision, to organize time efficiently,



and to work well with a variety of people Must be able to travel to all locations within the Niagara Catholic District School Board jurisdiction. Varies as needed on a casual on call basis.

Must be available Monday to Friday for Elementary and Secondary School hours.
