Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager For over 30 years, we have grown from a two-person greenhouse into a 100-acre operation combining great science with dedicated care to supply the young plants that beautify homes and gardens across North America. Every pump, panel, greenhouse system and vehicle on site depends on our Maintenance & Engineering team, and we are growing that team.

We are expanding our team and looking for a Maintenance & Engineering Technician. Our site features a wide range of equipment, spanning mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fabricated systems. Whether your core background is rooted in electrical/electronics, mechanical systems, plumbing, or a broad mix of trades, we value your specific trade expertise.

While we will not ask an electrician to spend their days doing heavy plumbing, we do need adaptable team players who are happy to support across the site where practical.

What success looks like:

- Planned maintenance completed on schedule, with unplanned downtime in your skill area steadily reducing.
- Equipment, tools and vehicles that meet or exceed our safety standards.
- Faults resolved in-house and at the root cause, with repeat failures rare and falling.
- Equipment and tools progressively improved through practical, hands-on innovation.
- The right skills applied to every job, with external contractors called in only when genuinely necessary.
- Temporary and/or contract workers directed clearly and safely, with every incident and near miss reported and acted on.

If this sounds like you:

- You have solid hands-on experience in an electrical/electronics, mechanical, plumbing trade, or a mixture of these, with the range and confidence to work beyond your core specialty when needed.




- You diagnose problems methodically rather than guessing, respond quickly when something breaks down, including on-call as required, and follow through to a proper fix.
- You are comfortable being hands-on with fabrication and adapting equipment when the standard part or solution is not available.
- You are a genuine collaborator, comfortable working alongside teammates from different disciplines, willing to lean on a colleague's specialist skills for complex jobs, and just as ready to share your own in return.
- You can lead and direct small teams of temporary or contract workers, briefing them clearly and keeping the work secure, including where language or experience differences call for extra care.
- A relevant trade qualification (electrical, mechanical, industrial, or similar) is an asset; what matters most is proven, broad practical capability.

You will be expected to use good judgement about when to escalate a problem and when a practical workaround will do, and to own the outcome either way. $30 – $45 per hour, depending on experience, with the top of the range reserved for an exceptional candidate (approximately $62,400 – $93,600 CAD annually, based on a standard 40-hour week).
