Maintenance Specialist/Industrial Millwright Shift: Monday to Friday, 10:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Schedule: Night shift with flexibility for schedule changes and occasional weekends as required

About The Role

- We are seeking a skilled and experienced Industrial Millwright to join our maintenance team in a regulated food manufacturing environment.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving plant equipment and systems while supporting safety, food quality, and production efficiency.
- This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical knowledge, independent problem-solving skills, and the ability to respond quickly to maintenance and equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure the safe and reliable operation of plant equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment, identify issues, and complete repairs or replacements.
- Install, repair, and modify hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Troubleshoot motors, sensors, VFDs, AC/DC drives, and related electrical components.
- Work with gearboxes, pumps, air compressors, HVAC systems, and other industrial equipment.
- Set up and operate shop machinery as required.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools to repair or modify components.
- Perform welding, brazing, carpentry, and general mechanical repairs as required.
- Support and lead capital expenditure (CAPEX) and maintenance projects.
- Perform preventive maintenance and complete work orders using a CMMS.
- Research and source parts, supplies, and machinery required for maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory of parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment safely.
- Monitor plant activities and promote a strong safety culture.
- Follow all SOPs, GMPs, HACCP, BRC, allergen control, and food safety requirements.
- Maintain the physical condition, appearance, and functionality of the facility.
- Support equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assess maintenance situations,



allocate resources, and drive timely execution.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and complete projects within established deadlines.

Qualifications

- Valid Millwright certification obtained through a recognized apprenticeship program or a minimum of four years of relevant maintenance experience.
- Valid mechanical trade certification.
- Mechanical Engineering diploma is an asset.
- Demonstrated maintenance experience in a regulated food manufacturing workplace.
- Experience managing or leading maintenance teams across multiple shifts.
- Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems and equipment.
- Hands-on experience with gearboxes, motors, pumps, compressors, HVAC systems, and AC/DC drives.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience with motors, sensors, VFDs, and related equipment.
- Knowledge of machine controls and instrumentation.
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Welding/brazing and carpentry experience is an asset.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Valid forklift and scissor lift certification.
- Intermediate computer skills and basic mathematical ability.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to quickly assess situations, prioritize resources, and execute solutions.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and working at heights using ladders and lift equipment.
- Must be available to work days, afternoons, nights, and weekends as required.

- This is a physically active position in an industrial manufacturing environment. The role may involve exposure to loud noise, hazardous materials, heat, cold, operating machinery, and other manufacturing conditions.
- The position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, lifting, and working at heights.
