Radar helps people understand what is happening on the Internet.com, Cloudflare Speed Test, our Internet measurement and analytics platforms, and the data pipelines that turn signals from Cloudflare’s global network into useful insights. We publish analysis of DDoS attacks and other Internet events, power recurring reports such as the Cloudflare Year in Review, and build tools that make large and complex datasets understandable. A major part of the team’s next chapter is figuring out how to turn more of that unique perspective into useful, reliable and consumable insights — improving the products we already have, helping other Cloudflare products make better decisions, and identifying entirely new opportunities. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Radar & Insights engineering team.You will be responsible for the people, execution and engineering quality of the team while partnering closely with Product Management and engineering teams across Cloudflare.

You will not be expected to write most of the code, but you should be able to understand the systems your team operates, challenge architectural decisions, ask the right questions when something is going wrong, and step into a technical problem when the situation calls for it. Your success will be measured by the quality and output of the team you build, the engineers you develop, and the systems and products they deliver. This role may require flexibility to be on-call outside of standard working hours to address technical issues as needed.

Manage, coach and grow a team of engineers working across Cloudflare Radar, Speed Test andInternet measurement, analytics and large-scale data systems. Improve the quality, reliability and usability of the data and insights surfaced through Radar and the systems that produce them.



Help evolve Cloudflare Speed Test and the measurement capabilities behind it.

Partner closely with Product Management to shape the roadmap and turn broad opportunities into clear engineering problems. Help the team make the enormous volume of signals available across Cloudflare’s network more useful and consumable. Own the operational health of the team’s systems, including observability, incident response, data quality and long-term reliability.

Develop technical leaders within the team and create space for engineers to lead architecture and implementation. Work across Cloudflare to resolve dependencies and bring complex technical and product decisions to closure. You have led and developed high-performing engineering team(s) and can point to what that team shipped and how the people on it grew.

You can review a design, understand the trade-offs in a distributed system or data platform, and recognize when a technical problem needs deeper investigation. You are comfortable managing a team working across several related technical areas and can create clarity without requiring every problem to fit neatly into a single box. You care deeply about reliability and quality, particularly when the output of a system is data that people use to understand the Internet.

You have strong product judgment and enjoy working with Product Management to decide what is worth building, what needs improvement and what should not be built at all. You communicate clearly, give direct feedback, and can explain complex technical decisions to both engineers and non-engineers.

Experience leading engineering teams responsible for production software and services. Strong technical grounding in distributed systems, data-intensive systems, Internet infrastructure or adjacent areas.

Experience operating systems where correctness, reliability and data quality matter as much as feature delivery.

Experience building or operating large-scale data pipelines, analytics platforms, telemetry systems or measurement infrastructure.

Bonus Points

Familiarity with Internet protocols and infrastructure such as DNS, BGP, routing or network measurement.

Experience building analytics or insights products that turn complex underlying data into something useful for a broad audience.

Experience working on products where the underlying data or infrastructure creates opportunities beyond the product’s original scope.
