Job Summary:

This Mechanical Designer will focus on the design of emission control reactors, including conducting quality inspections. Supporting key processes involved in the fabrication of reactors, ramping up production and managing suppliers. The role will also participate in continuous improvement and R&D; activities to enhance the efficiencies and performance of the team’s processes and reactor designs.

Major Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain a through understanding of the company’s existing technology and design principles.
- Participate in new mechanical designs and extensions of existing systems.
- Communicate with fabricators to ensure design requirements are met.
- Perform in depth quality inspections at various fabrication sites.
- Assist project managers with design drawings and customer submittals.
- Keep track of inventory and logistics for fabricators.
- Procurement activities including scheduling and working with suppliers and fabrication facilities.
- Plan and spec analysis in order to provide clear, trackable and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for fabrication and installation.




- Design and implement recent components and product changes.
- Attend project review and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as requested or required.
- Perform additional assignments and responsibilities as assumed or requested by supervision.

Skills & Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
- Excellent working knowledge of mechanical design, solid mechanics, heat transfer and fluid dynamics
- Hold a valid Ontario Driver’s License for weekly travel to fabricators.
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on complex problems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Job Demands/Working Conditions:

- Office with visits to fabrication production facilities.
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise and vibration levels during visits to production facilities (PPE required).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $80,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
