Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures at the front desk, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages promptly.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records using Epic and other electronic health record systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Verify patient insurance information and process billing using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software.
- Prepare exam rooms, assist with patient flow, and support clinical staff as needed during patient visits.
- Handle administrative duties such as appointment scheduling, data entry, and managing correspondence efficiently.
- Support the dental receptionist duties by coordinating patient flow, managing appointment reminders, and organizing patient files.
Skills
- Proficiency in Epic electronic medical records system and Dentrix dental software to streamline documentation and billing processes.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical notes and communicate effectively with healthcare providers.
- Experience working in a dental office environment or medical office setting with front desk responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask across various administrative functions in a busy office.
- Familiarity with multi-line phone systems for efficient communication management.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining professionalism.
- Prior experience with office equipment such as fax machines, scanners, and printers is preferred.
