What We Need
2K is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Researcher to join our Sports Research & Insights team. You will play a critical role in bringing the voice of the player to the forefront of the organization, providing player insights and recommendations based on primary and secondary research and data analysis.
This role will require comfort conducting and guiding both user experience research (UXR) and consumer insights (CI) / market research. This involves partnering with game development studios as well as the broader publishing organization to learn their needs and apply a wide assortment of research methods including playtesting, usability testing, concept research, audience analysis, telemetric analysis, surveys and more.
The successful candidate will have a record of designing and executing a range of primary research, working cross-functionally, and advising key decisions around product, marketing, and commercial strategy and tactics.
What You'll Do
- Partner with development and publishing teams to plan and execute research studies.
- Deliver explicit and concise findings on time and within budget.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to key internal partners across teams.
- Lead collaborative relationships with internal and external (vendor) partners to ensure a high quality of work.
What Will Make You A Great Fit
- Proven track record conducting UXR and CI studies, including an understanding of when and why to deploy each methodology.
- Extensive experience in gaming, either within a studio, a publishing org, at a research agency, etc.
- Strong interest and understanding of global sports culture and gaming.
- Deep understanding of mixed-research methods, frameworks and processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experienced in building and managing relationships with cross-functional partners.
- Passion for video games and gaming.
Preference for Candidates with:
- 6+ years of experience in UXR and/or CI, preferably within a gaming environment.
- A consistent track record of impact.
- Experience personally conducting qualitative and/or quantitative primary research (meaning you did the research as opposed to managing a vendor / 3rd party who did it).
- Strong analytical and statistical skills,
with bonus points for experience with quantitative / statistical software (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R, Q, Python, Tableau).
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work with a variety of personalities, skills, geographies, and seniority levels.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and change, ability to operate with minimal direction / supervision when needed.
- Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally.
