QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Experience/Knowledge:

- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy required
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario required
- Knowledge, skills and proven experience providing diagnostic assessments required
- Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to gender-affirming, culturally responsive, trauma-inform and patient-centered care
- Recognize that gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, medical transition and social transition are distinct and individual experiences
- Proven skills and experience in completing psychosocial histories required
- Knowledge and skills in the completion of cognitive assessments including those that may require the supervision of the psychologist/psychiatrist. For example, Montreal Cognitive Assessment, Mini-Mental Status/Cognitive Examination, Behavioural Neurology Assessment, Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test, Symbol Digit Modalities Test, California Verbal Learning Test, Brief Visuospatial Memory Test-Revised, Delis-Kaplan Executive Function System, Controlled Oral Word Association Test
- Demonstrated accuracy, validity, and standardization in test administration required
- Demonstrated superior skills in conducting interviews required
- Experience with facilitating and co-facilitating structured therapeutic groups
- Knowledge of therapeutic approaches with preferred experience in behaviour modification. For example, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy an asset
- Current Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Certificate an asset

- Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
