Job Overview

We are a multidisciplinary private practice located in Sudbury, ON seeking an occasional/part-time (contract) Occupational Therapist with experience providing neurodiversity-affirming care.

In this role, you will work closely with clients to help them develop, recover, or improve the skills needed for daily living. You will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, and supervising interventions conducted by assistants in various settings, including both pediatric and adult care environments.

Your interest in offering client and family-centered care in an setting of radical acceptance would be a strong asset. Your ability to supervise assistants and your expertise in case management are required for this role.

Please note, the salary is based on direct client-facing hours only in a contractual agreement where you will have full control over your schedule with the utmost flexibility to allow for your own quality of life maximization.

Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients to determine their needs and establish appropriate treatment goals.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on client assessments and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.
- Implement therapeutic interventions that promote independence in daily activities, focusing on physical, cognitive, and emotional aspects of rehabilitation.




- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Educate clients and their families about treatment options, strategies for improvement, and ways to manage their goals effectively.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with advancements in occupational therapy practices and participate in ongoing professional development, especially as it relates to neurodivergent clients.

Experience

- A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program is required.
- Valid licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist is mandatory.
- Experience working in pediatrics is required.
- Familiarity with case management practices is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are essential for success in this role.
