Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our expanding practice! You will play a vital roll on our growing team, providing services to children, adolescents, and adults, under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist. Please note this is an Independent Contractor Position.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working with a wide array of professionals across diverse settings, and will bring creativity, patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm to therapy sessions. Duties

- Assist licensed occupational therapist in developing and executing individualized therapy programs tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Support patients through therapeutic activities designed to enhance sensory processing, motor skills, coordination, and daily living abilities.
- Monitor patient progress, document responses to therapy interventions, and report findings accurately to the supervising therapist.
- Prepare treatment areas and gather necessary equipment to ensure smooth therapy sessions.
- Educate clients and their families on therapeutic strategies to promote continued progress outside of sessions.




- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to clinic policies, professional expectations, and applicable privacy requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of patient sessions and progress notes, in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all clients during therapy sessions.
- Provide services in the clinic and potentially home, school, community, or other settings as required.

Qualifications

- OPTA Diploma, or equivalent experience
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check
- Personal Liability Insurance is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adapt quickly to changing clinical needs.
- Creative and comfortable adapting activities to meet different development, physical, and functional abilities.
