Job Title: Analyst, Premier’s Investment Council

Ministry: Executive Council

Full or Part-Time: Full-Time

Permanent/Temporary: Permanent

Salary: $2,935.39 to $3,850.29 bi-weekly ($76,613 - $100,492 annually)

Executive Council works to ensure effective strategic planning and coordinated policy development and communications across government, engages Albertans and the broader global community, and promotes a vibrant and creative public service. In addition to policy, protocol, communications and Cabinet functions, Executive Council includes Intergovernmental and International Relations, which develops strategies on issues of importance to Alberta and Canada - with its international partners, clients, and stakeholders – to address challenges and grow opportunities.

The International Relations

Division advances Alberta's interests globally by supporting trade, investment, talent attraction, and international engagement. Within this division, the Premier's Investment Council and International Operations Branch supports Alberta's international presence and strategic investment priorities. Reporting to the Director, Premier's Investment Council and Data Analytics, the Analyst provides market intelligence, data analysis, governance and stakeholder support to help inform decision‑making,



advance investment opportunities, and support the Council's mandate of strengthening Alberta's economic growth and global competitiveness.

Provide analytical and performance intelligence support by gathering, analyzing, and reporting on market data, investment trends, and key performance measures to inform strategic decision‑making and investment outcomes.

Support the Premier’s Investment Council through executive‑level secretariat and governance functions, including coordinating meetings, preparing materials, tracking actions, and maintaining governance processes.

by maintaining relationship management platforms, coordinating with ministries, agencies, and external partners, and supporting the development of investment‑related materials and communications.

Prepare executive briefings and decision‑support materials by synthesizing complex information into clear, concise reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior leadership and decision‑makers.

Creative Problem Solving: Interprets ambiguous or incomplete data drawn from multiple systems, selects appropriate methods to reconcile and analyze it,



and looks for better ways to structure reporting so insights are reliable and fit for executive decision‑making.

Plans effectively to ensure reporting deadlines are met and that Council members and stakeholders remain engaged, taking ownership of the accuracy and completeness of analysis and materials delivered to senior audiences.

Develop Networks: Relies on partner ministries, provincial agencies and Council contributors to supply input, building and maintaining the relationships needed to gather complete, accurate The position must manage and adjust analytical work in a fast‑paced environment, re‑prioritizing to meet accelerated, non‑negotiable timelines while keeping data, reporting and secretariat support accurate and on track.

University graduation in a relevant field such as Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field, plus a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in:

data analytics;

synthesizing complex data from multiple sources;

knowledge of existing data sources to support investment decisions; stakeholder networks related to Alberta’s investment attraction ecosystem; Monday-Friday, 8:15am‑4:30pm, 36.25 hours/week
