Vine Place Community Centre, located at 30 Crestview, is seeking 1 individual to assist in coordinating programs. One position is located at 30 Crestview and the other position is split between smaller sites located in the Hendon Dr and Birchycove Dr. areas. Each person will work closely with the Executive Director, the programs sub-committee, and the other program coordinator to assess needs and other issues in the client base we serve, conduct outreach initiatives, and coordinate with other community resources and stakeholders to provide programs.

Duties:

- Assess ongoing needs and identify issues in the community and client base.
- Design and implement programs and services in coordination with executive director and programs sub-committee.
- Connect with users through community outreach initiatives.
- Link and refer users to other resources in the community.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule from week to week. Must be able to work any time from 8:30am to 8:30pm from Monday to Thurs, 8:30am - 4:30pm on Friday. Schedule will be set according to events and programming or as needed.
- Comfortable working alone.
- Locate and direct resources for initiatives.
- Research and identify possible funding sources for programming.
- Compile weekly stats and input into online resource by a specified date each month. Compile progress, monthly and/or final reports for programs or funding providers.
- Sit on committees/boards as determined by the executive director.
- Organize and help with special events and/or programs that fall outside regular work hours.




- Other work duties that may be assigned by the executive director to help maintain the running of the community centre or its programs.

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary degree/diploma in youth care, recreation, community studies or a combination or work experience and education.
- Experience working with varied targeted group including seniors, youth, school age children, and challenging/complex needs populations.
- Provide outreach to those community members who are not currently engaged in programs or the centre.
- Have a good understanding of the issues that affect low-income and complex needs populations.
- The ability to build rapport with community members and partners.
- Outgoing and self-directed.
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Valid first Aid and Non-violent Crisis Intervention certificates would be an asset.
- Must be able to provide a letter of conduct.

Salary: $20.00/hour for 35 hours a week. Advantages: 15 days vacation plus stat days along with 12 sick/personal days per year.

Note: Use of a vehicle will be compensated with a per km rate.
