Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator/Manager will support and actively contribute to CIHR-funded qualitative and theoretically informed research grounded in critical disability studies, posthuman theory, and relational methodologies. The role will contribute to the conceptual development and operationalization of relational, critical qualitative research design and will conduct advanced qualitative data generation including in-depth interviews, focus groups, and ethnographic fieldwork in adherence with institutional REB and CIHR protocols. The Project Coordinator/Manager will lead and/or support concurrent data analysis informed by relational and posthuman theoretical framings and will engage in iterative analytic memos, theoretical integration, and conceptual synthesis across interdisciplinary literatures (e.g., disability studies, rehabilitation sciences, sociology of health, medicine, and illness). The role will oversee qualitative data management, including secure storage, de-identification, and organization in NVivo or comparable software, and will liaise with research collaborators, community partners, trainees, and advisory committees to support knowledge co-production.

Qualifications





Education

- Undergraduate Degree; Project Management Professional certification
- Actively pursuing or completion of PhD in Disability studies, sociology of health or a relevant area of focus preferred

Experience:
- 2 years' work experience in a related field
- Demonstrated experience applying theoretically advanced analytic frameworks (e.g., posthumanism, assemblage-thinking, new materialisms etc) to empirical research
- Experience contributing to peer-reviewed publications and grant-funded research projects
- Experience working collaboratively within interdisciplinary and community-engaged research teams.

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Qualitative analytic skills, including concurrent data generation and theory informed analysis
- Demonstrate capacity to synthesize complex interdisciplinary literatures and translate conceptual frameworks into research design
- Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
- Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
- Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
- Proficiency in qualitative data management software
- Familiarity with regulations and guidelines governing research (including REB protocols, CIHR guidelines, and ethics governance in human subjects research)
- Strong Familiarity with methods for research design (including experimental designs), implementation, and analysis
- Excellent academic writing skills, including preparation of manuscripts, grant materials, and knowledge translation outputs.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
- Strong organization skills with attention to methodological coherence and analytic rigour
- Professional communication skills suited to academic, clinical, and community audiences.
- Familiarity with best practices in building a strong collaborative team and leading people
- Familiarity with project life cycles
- Familiarity with techniques for planning,



managing and coordinating multiple projects, with competing priorities that involve a variety of stakeholders
- Project management skills to ensure team roles are clear, milestones are communicated and deadlines are met
- Familiarity with best practices for change management
- Communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with all levels of the organization
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Results-oriented with the ability to motivate and coach employees to meet high performance standards
- Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community
- Strong client focus with a desire to achieve results
