Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials necessary for our operations. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, vendor management, and effective negotiation skills to secure the best prices and terms.

Duties

- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality service and timely delivery of goods.
- Utilize SAP and MRP systems to track inventory levels, forecast needs, and place orders.
- Collaborate with production teams to understand material requirements for fabrication processes.
- Analyze market trends to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
- Develop and maintain purchasing policies and procedures to streamline procurement processes.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality or delivery.
- Prepare reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and supplier performance metrics.

Requirements

- Experience in purchasing or procurement roles is an asset but not required.




- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive pricing from vendors.
- Familiarity with vendor management practices and supply chain principles.
- Understanding SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Knowledge of materials requirements planning (MRP) processes is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for evaluating supplier proposals.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a rapid-paced environment.
