We are offering you the opportunity to join Heritage Green Child Care, a non profit, well established centre that has been serving the community since 1993.

Your role as the infant room float will be to support the infant program and relieve other infant staff for their morning breaks and lunches, wash morning snack dishes for the program and puree infant lunches as required. The shift is 7:00am to 1:30pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch, (6 hours per day).

This position is covering a leave of absence.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Establish warm supportive relationships with parents
- Create a warm, welcoming environment
- Have knowledge of infant development
- Work co-operatively in a large team environment to ensure a positive and supportive team atmosphere
- Communicate morning messages to the rest of the team verbally or through a journal
- Engage children in learning activities that support infant development
- Supervise, guide and assist children in daily activities, routines and transitions
- Follow parent directions in relation to feeding and sleep routines
- Use Storypark to document feeding, diapering, sleep, incident reports and documentation
- Provide a safe environment with infant needs in mind
- Maintain equipment and assist in housekeeping duties as needed
- Ensure confidentiality of privileged information
- Maintain adherence to all policies and procedures
- Contribute to a community of life-long learning through attending professional development opportunities

You bring the following qualifications:

- Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators is required




- A diploma/degree or equivalent in Early Childhood Education is required
- Experience in a licensed child care centre is an asset
- Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act
- Knowledge and understanding of the emergent curriculum approach
- Provide a current Vulnerable Sector Police Check (dated within the last 6 months) or willingness to obtain one at own cost.
- Must provide results of a current TB test (from within the past 6 months) or be willing to get a Step 1 TB test.
- Provide proof of immunizations (Tdap and MMR)
- Standard First Aid Certification (WSIB Approved) within past three years
- CPR/AED Level C Certification (WSIB Approved) within the past year
- Current Food Handler's Certificate
