Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Reefer Technician to join our agile maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining refrigerated units (reefers) to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Your expertise will help keep our temperature-sensitive cargo secure and our fleet operating efficiently.

Duties

- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on refrigeration units, including checking compressors, condensers, evaporators, and thermostats.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using schematics and technical manuals to identify root causes of equipment failures.
- Repair or replace mechanical components such as valves, belts, fans, pumps, and electrical wiring to restore proper function.
- Conduct soldering tasks as needed for system repairs or modifications.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed,



and parts used for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Work mobile out of a service vehicle at different locations.

Skills

- Solid mechanical knowledge with experience in refrigeration systems, HVAC units an asset
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical diagrams, and mechanical drawings for troubleshooting purposes.
- Skilled in plumbing and welding techniques necessary for system repairs or modifications.
- Experience with maintenance procedures for refrigeration units, including compressor servicing and refrigerant handling.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Previous mechanic experience or background in HVAC or Automotive/Truck repair is highly desirable.
