Salary Range: $39.96 - $40.37 /hour

An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join the Molecular Imaging and Theranostics team within Medical Imaging at St. Joseph's Health Care London. The program provides specialized diagnostic imaging and radioligand therapies using radiopharmaceuticals to support the diagnosis and treatment of patients with a variety of conditions.

The RPN is part of an interprofessional team that includes Nuclear Medicine physicians, Medical Radiation Technologists (MRTs), nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Working within their full scope of practice, the RPN will provide patient assessment, education, treatment preparation and monitoring, nursing interventions, and coordination of care. The role also supports patients and families throughout their treatment journey and involves working closely with radiopharmaceuticals and patients receiving radioactive therapies while following established radiation safety practices and precautions.

Essential Qualifications

- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Current Certificate of Registration with College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
- Proficiency and experience in pharmacology and medication administration
- Recent clinical experience assessing and monitoring patients, recognizing changes in patient condition and escalating concerns appropriately
- Experience with IV initiation, management and care
- Experience administering medications and monitoring patients for therapeutic response and adverse effects
- Experience coordinating care for patients with multiple appointments,



investigations and/or treatment requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and establish positive interpersonal relationships to work effectively in a team setting
- Understanding of and comfort working in a clinical environment involving radiopharmaceuticals, radiation precautions and patients receiving radioactive therapies
- Demonstrated recent experience providing patient and family education related to treatment, procedures, preparation and follow-up care
- Knowledge with equipment utilized in the clinical environment; will be required to assist with re-ordering of supplies
- Valid CPR certificate
- Demonstrated ability to apply & document the nursing process
- Excellent decision making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to hold conversations with patients requiring emotional support
- Experience providing patient and family education related to treatment, procedures, preparation and follow-up care
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload

Preferred Qualifications

- Proficiency in French would be an asset.

Immunization Requirements

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
