Role Description This on-site Registered Veterinary Technician role is based in Burnaby, BC and involves working directly with veterinarians, clients, and patients in a clinical setting. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with exams and procedures, monitoring patients, preparing and maintaining treatment areas, and supporting diagnostic and laboratory work. The technician will help administer medications, perform routine nursing care, and assist with anesthesia and surgery.

The role also involves educating clients on pet care, treatment plans, and preventative health,



as well as maintaining accurate medical records and supporting overall clinic workflow.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Animal Care and Pet Care, including handling, restraint, and routine nursing support.
- Proficiency in Veterinary Technology, such as diagnostics, laboratory procedures, and medical record management.
- Experience with Anesthesiology, including patient monitoring and assisting with surgical procedures.
- Ability to provide clear, empathetic Client Education about treatment plans and preventive health.
- Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program and eligibility for registration/licensure in BC.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organization skills, with attention to detail in a clinical environment.
- Comfort working in a rapid-paced practice and standing or lifting as required for patient care.
- Previous experience in a small animal clinic or hospital is an asset.
