Key Responsibilities
Residential Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential home.
- Ensure the home is safe, clean, organized, and appropriately maintained.
- Ensure youth receive consistent, respectful, and individualized support.
- Maintain a structured and supportive residential environment.
- Monitor routines, schedules, appointments, activities, and other daily requirements.
- Ensure household supplies, food, medications, and other required items are appropriately maintained and monitored.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, and changes in the needs of youth.
- Ensure all organizational policies and procedures are followed.
Staff Supervision
- Develop and monitor staff schedules to ensure appropriate staffing coverage.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, performance, and compliance with workplace expectations.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Address workplace concerns and performance issues in consultation with management and Human Resources.
- Ensure staff complete required documentation and follow all policies and procedures.
- Promote effective communication and teamwork among residential staff.
Youth Support & Care
- Ensure youth receive individualized, respectful, and trauma-informed support.
- Support the implementation of individual care plans, goals, routines, and behavioural strategies.
- Promote youth participation in education, recreational activities, appointments, and community involvement.
- Advocate for the needs and best interests of youth.
- Build positive and professional relationships with youth while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Monitor changes in behaviour, emotional well-being, health, and overall presentation and communicate concerns appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with case managers, families, schools, healthcare providers, and other professionals when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Social Services, Child and Youth Care, Behavioural Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a residential setting, group home, youth services, child welfare, or a related environment.
- Previous supervisory or management experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with youth who may have complex behavioural, emotional, developmental, or social needs.
- Solid knowledge of youth-focused, trauma-informed, and person-centred approaches.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced residential environment.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation may be required.
- Ability to successfully complete required background and vulnerable sector screening.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Pay: $75,000.00 per year
