About My Legal Basement

My Legal Basement is a growing residential renovation company specializing in legal basement apartments and residential renovation projects across the GTA.

We are looking for a highly motivated Residential Renovation Sales Consultant / Estimator who understands construction, knows how to build trust with homeowners, and most importantly, knows how to close deals.

This is not a salaried position. We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial, owner mentality who wants their income to be directly connected to their performance.

The Opportunity

You will receive qualified homeowner leads and attend scheduled in-home consultations.

Your responsibility is to understand the homeowner's needs, assess the project, develop an accurate scope and estimate, present our solution, follow up professionally, and turn qualified opportunities into signed contracts.

We want someone who treats every lead like it is their own business.

Key Responsibilities

- Attend scheduled in-home consultations with homeowners
- Conduct site visits and assess renovation requirements
- Understand the homeowner's needs, budget, timeline, and decision-making process
- Take measurements and gather the information required to prepare accurate estimates
- Develop scopes of work and renovation estimates
- Present proposals and explain pricing, scope, process, and timelines
- Educate homeowners about legal basement and renovation requirements
- Follow up aggressively and professionally with open opportunities
- Negotiate and close residential renovation contracts
- Maintain accurate lead, estimate, follow-up, and sales information in the company CRM
- Coordinate with project management and estimating teams after a project is sold
- Build relationships that generate referrals and repeat business
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly sales targets





Who We Are Looking For We are specifically looking for someone who has a sales hunter mentality combined with residential construction knowledge.

The ideal candidate:

- Has experience selling residential renovations, construction, basements, kitchens, bathrooms, additions, or similar home improvement projects
- Understands residential construction terminology, materials, labour, scopes of work, and estimating
- Is comfortable walking into a homeowner's property and discussing renovation options confidently
- Can identify customer needs and recommend solutions rather than simply providing a price
- Has strong negotiation and closing skills
- Understands that consistent follow-up is a major part of sales
- Is highly organized and capable of managing multiple active opportunities
- Has excellent communication and presentation skills
- Is comfortable working independently without constant supervision
- Has a strong sense of urgency and personal accountability
- Is motivated by commissions and uncapped earning potential

Requirements

- Previous residential renovation/construction sales experience strongly preferred




- Good understanding of residential renovation and construction
- Experience preparing or assisting with renovation estimates
- Strong sales, negotiation, and closing ability

- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable vehicle and ability to travel to homeowner appointments throughout the assigned territory
- Comfortable using CRM, email, mobile apps, and estimating tools
- Professional appearance and communication
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends when homeowner appointments require it

Compensation Commission Only – Uncapped Earning Potential

This position is designed for a strong salesperson who wants to be rewarded for performance.

The more business you close, the more you earn.

Qualified leads and in-home consultation opportunities will be provided by the company, while the Sales Consultant is responsible for maximizing those opportunities through professional consultations, estimating, follow-up, negotiation, and closing.
