This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your sales expertise, improve your organizational skills, and gain valuable experience in retail operations and customer service. This position requires being on your feet and walking for 7.5 hours per shift.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly, transport product to the front counter so customers can continue to shop unhindered, open showcases and present products to customers.
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions including cash handling and credit card payments.
- Maintain attractive product displays through effective merchandising strategies when vendors are not present.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the shop and washroom through scheduled maintenance duties.
- Handle cashiering duties efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer service during busy periods.
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English
- Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures,
and retail sales processes
- Experience or interest in vintage, antiques and collectables
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain store presentation standards
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service by active listening
- Familiarity with merchandising techniques to create appealing displays that drive sales
- Basic understanding of social media platforms and online marketing, a plus
