Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Test Lead – Senior to lead and coordinate comprehensive quality assurance and testing activities for complex enterprise applications. The successful candidate will develop and execute test strategies, plans, scripts, scenarios, and test data across functional, integration, regression, performance, accessibility, and non-functional testing.

The role requires strong experience working in Agile environments , enterprise cloud platforms such as Azure , Azure DevOps , SQL/PLSQL, test automation, defect management, accessibility testing, and large-scale web-based application development. Experience with business and systems analysis, data migration/ETL testing, and AODA compliance is highly valuable.

Key Responsibilities

- Test Strategy & Planning
- Collaborate with product managers, product owners, business analysts, and technical teams to develop test strategies and test plans.
- Plan, organize, and implement testing efforts for both large and small systems.
- Develop manual test scripts, test cases, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
- Plan and create test data for different testing phases.
- Support implementation of technical testing strategies and methodologies.
- Plan and organize testing across front-end and back-end application components and environments.
- Quality Assurance & Test Execution
- Execute functional, integration, regression, unit, load, performance, accessibility, and other QA testing activities.
- Perform front-end and back-end testing for enterprise applications.
- Conduct web-based UI testing and systems-level integration testing.
- Perform smoke, stress, performance, and load testing.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities.
- Conduct post-release and post-implementation testing.
- Evaluate test results against acceptance criteria to determine successful completion of sprint increments.
- Define and measure acceptance criteria for test cases.
- Test Automation & Technical Testing
- Develop, modify, and execute automated test scripts.
- Develop automated test cases using tools such as Katalon Studio or equivalent.
- Use Azure DevOps or equivalent tools to develop and execute testing scripts and manage testing workflows.
- Perform Java-based UI and backend testing.
- Support testing of integration points, interfaces, and non-functional requirements, including failover, response times, data integrity, and security.
- Use SQL/PLSQL tools to review, extract, and analyze database data.
- Develop end-to-end ETL/data migration test plans, functional scenarios, and integration workflows.
- Accessibility & Compliance Testing
- Develop and execute AODA testing plans.
- Perform accessibility testing using tools such as JAWS, NVDA, or equivalent.
- Apply knowledge of AODA requirements, regulations, and accessibility standards throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Validate application accessibility and compliance requirements.
- Defect Management
- Record and manage defects using Microsoft Azure DevOps or equivalent tools.
- Provide detailed defect descriptions, screenshots, reproduction steps, and supporting information.
- Identify, trace, isolate, and replicate application problems.
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Track, document, prioritize, and escalate defects as required.




- Provide regular defect status reports to project stakeholders.
- Support Agile sprint management, defect tracking, and testing lifecycle management.
- Business Analysis & Agile Collaboration
- Participate in requirements elicitation and business requirements workshops.
- Support development of user stories and requirements artifacts.
- Contribute to business and systems analysis activities within cloud environments.
- Perform data modeling, data analysis, and report writing.
- Develop business analysis artifacts supporting modernization initiatives and new workflows.
- Perform gap analysis to support modernization and business efficiency initiatives.
- Participate in sprint reviews, walkthroughs, and Agile ceremonies.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams throughout the Agile/iterative solution development lifecycle.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

- Knowledge and experience with at least one programming language.
- Experience using information retrieval packages.
- Knowledge of testing methods within an object-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
- Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requirements, regulations, and standards.
- Proven experience planning and organizing testing efforts for large and small systems.
- Experience coding automated test scripts and creating automated test cases.
- Experience testing Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications.
- Strong experience with manual and automated testing practices.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with Azure or another enterprise cloud platform.
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps or equivalent.
- Experience with SQL/PLSQL and database data extraction/analysis.
- Experience with test automation tools and version control systems.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, practices, tools, and structured methodologies.
- Knowledge of all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Experience & Skill Set Requirements QA / Testing Skills – 25%

- Experience working on large, complex application development projects, preferably web-based applications.
- Experience working in Agile distributed development environments using virtual collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
- Experience working within an enterprise cloud platform such as Azure.
- Proven experience using SQL/PLSQL tools for database review and data extraction.
- Experience developing end-to-end data migration and ETL test plans.
- Experience developing functional, regression, smoke, performance, load, stress, and integration testing plans.
- Experience developing AODA testing plans.
- Experience using test automation tools within DevOps environments.
- Experience developing testing strategies and managing the complete testing lifecycle.
- Experience using Azure DevOps or equivalent for testing scripts and approval processes.

Business Analysis Experience – 20%
- Demonstrated experience in business and systems analysis within cloud environments.
- Experience gathering requirements and developing user stories.
- Experience creating requirements artifacts within Agile project environments using DevOps.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and data analysis.
- Experience with report writing.




- Experience creating business analysis artifacts for business modernization initiatives and new workflows.
- Experience performing gap analysis to support modernization and business efficiency.
- Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies.

Technical Experience – 15%
- Proven experience developing complex test cases, performing hands-on test execution, and managing defects.
- Strong SQL/PLSQL experience, including data extraction and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with AODA testing tools such as JAWS and NVDA.
- Familiarity with vulnerability testing and performance/load testing tools.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or equivalent for creating and executing testing scripts.
- Experience coding, modifying, and executing automated test scripts using Katalon Studio or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with Java-based UI and backend testing.

Defect Management Skills – 20%
- Demonstrated experience with defect management processes, tools, and defect status reporting.
- Experience identifying, tracing, isolating, and reproducing application problems.
