Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist with extensive experience in developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, test data, and executing both manual and automated testing for complex enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in web application and data warehouse testing, API automation, SQL/database testing, performance testing, accessibility testing, and SDLC/STLC methodologies . Hands-on experience with tools such as Postman, Thunder Client, Swagger, Playwright, Quick Test Pro, LoadRunner, Selenium, Micro Focus/OpenText UFT, HP Quality Center, TFS, JIRA, Bugzilla, and Azure DevOps is highly valuable.

The successful candidate will also collaborate across multiple project teams, investigate production issues, support SIT/SAT/UAT, integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, and ensure applications meet accessibility and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Test Strategy, Planning & QA Leadership
- Provide expert advice on testing strategies, test plans, testing tools, and required testing resources.
- Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scripts, test cases, test scenarios, and test data.
- Plan and organize testing efforts for large and complex systems across GUI and non-GUI environments.
- Define testing approaches for functional, integration, system, regression, acceptance, performance, stress, and load testing.
- Ensure testing activities align with established testing methodologies, project requirements, and industry standards.
- Support testing throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Prepare for, conduct, and support SIT, SAT, and UAT activities.
- Maintain detailed documentation of test results, coverage, defects, and quality metrics.
- Manual & Automated Testing
- Execute comprehensive manual and automated testing across enterprise applications.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as:

- Playwright

- Quick Test Pro

- Micro Focus/OpenText UFT

- Selenium

- TestComplete

- Postman
- Perform automation testing for web applications, Windows services, and Web API services.
- Use Postman, Thunder Client, and Swagger for API testing and validation.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop automated test cases and scripts using appropriate scripting languages.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, system, non-functional, and acceptance testing.
- Validate application behavior under different conditions and business scenarios.
- Technical & Database Testing – 65%
- Test complex web applications and data warehouse systems.
- Write comprehensive test scripts, test cases, and test scenarios.
- Perform backend and database testing using SQL, databases, and XML.
- Develop complex SQL scripts to validate data and perform database testing.
- Validate data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across system components and databases.
- Perform data migration and transformation testing where required.
- Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Test applications within HP NonStop/Tandem batch, online, n-tier, and web environments.




- Work with HP Quality Center (HPQC) and TFS to document, track, and report testing progress, test plans, and test cases.
- Utilize VBA and VBS for testing and automation activities.
- Work with desktop tools including Visio, MS Office, MS Project, and MS Outlook.
- Perform performance, stress, and load testing using tools such as JMeter and LoadRunner.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks and evaluate system scalability.
- Accessibility & Compliance Testing
- Conduct accessibility testing for web applications in alignment with AODA and WCAG 2.0 AA requirements.
- Use accessibility testing tools such as:

- JAWS

- NVDA

- Compliance Sheriff
- Validate application accessibility and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Identify accessibility issues and collaborate with development teams to support remediation.
- Defect Management & Production Support
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects.
- Work with tools such as ALM, JIRA, Bugzilla, TestRail, Zephyr, Azure DevOps, HPQC, and TFS.
- Collaborate closely with developers to reproduce, investigate, and resolve defects.
- Conduct system impact analysis in collaboration with business analysts and development teams.
- Investigate production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Provide recommendations and technical input for resolving production and application issues.
- Collaboration & Project Delivery – 30%
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, testing leads, IT leads, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate testing activities across multiple teams and technology areas.
- Work effectively with client organizations and project stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Work effectively in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Coordinate multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Ensure QA deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Communicate testing status, risks, issues, and recommendations to project stakeholders.
- Maintain strong interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Public Sector Experience – 5%
- Experience working within the Public Sector, particularly education systems, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with public sector applications, methodologies, standards, and regulatory requirements is an asset.
