Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Report Developer to support Business Intelligence (BI) reporting enablement activities for program areas within the Ministry of the Attorney General.

The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to gather requirements, model and process data, develop BI reports and dashboards, and deliver effective data visualizations using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Paginated Report Builder .

The role requires strong hands-on experience with T-SQL/PL-SQL, DAX, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, data modelling, ETL, data validation, troubleshooting, and report development . The successful candidate will also contribute to quality assurance, accessibility compliance, technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and migration activities.

Must-Have Skills

- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Paginated Report Builder.
- 4+ years of experience working with SQL query languages, including T-SQL and PL/SQL.
- 2+ years of experience with DAX programming.
- 2+ years of experience with ETL tools such as:

- Microsoft Azure Data Factory

- Databricks
- Strong knowledge of data modelling methodologies.
- Experience developing BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Experience troubleshooting BI solutions, reports, dashboards, and database queries.
- Experience analyzing data to resolve data quality issues and validate reports.

Key Responsibilities
- BI Requirements & Solution Assessment
- Participate in requirements-gathering sessions to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
- Work with Project Managers, business areas, and project stakeholders to evaluate reporting and BI requirements.
- Assess requirements and define appropriate approaches for delivering effective BI solutions.
- Collaborate with project teams to determine appropriate reporting, dashboard, visualization, and data-processing solutions.
- Support planning and development activities to meet BI reporting workload demands.
- Data Modelling, ETL & Data Processing
- Perform data modelling activities to support BI reporting and analytics requirements.
- Develop data processing pipelines to supply data repositories and data warehouses.
- Use Microsoft Azure Data Factory and Databricks to support Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes.
- Apply appropriate data modelling methodologies.




- Work with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database environments.
- Analyze data to identify and resolve data quality issues.
- Support data validation and ensure data accuracy for reporting solutions.
- Power BI Report & Dashboard Development
- Design and develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using:

- Power BI Desktop
- Power BI Paginated Report Builder
- Develop Power BI solutions based on functional and business requirements.
- Write and implement DAX code to support business logic within Power BI reports.
- Explore options for redesigning outdated reports and improving reporting solutions.
- Develop effective and user-focused visualizations.
- Ensure reports and dashboards provide accurate and meaningful business information.
- Troubleshooting & Quality Assurance
- Troubleshoot BI solutions, analytical reports, dashboards, and SQL queries.
- Investigate issues identified during pre-release testing.
- Apply corrective actions to resolve technical and reporting issues.
- Perform report validation and data analysis to ensure accuracy.
- Work with project teams to review reports and dashboards for quality assurance.
- Ensure BI solutions comply with applicable Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA requirements.
- Support technical reviews and issue resolution throughout the reporting lifecycle.
- Documentation, Migration & Knowledge Transfer
- Prepare technical and operational documentation required to support BI solutions.
- Provide documentation supporting migration activities.
- Document reporting solutions, data processes, technical configurations, and implementation approaches.
- Participate in knowledge-transfer activities.
- Explain technical tasks, solutions, and processes to non-technical team members.
- Contribute to project meetings by communicating work progress, risks, issues, and assessment results.
- Team Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with Project Managers, business stakeholders, developers, data professionals, and other technical team members.
- Participate in team meetings and provide updates on work progress.
- Communicate risks, issues, findings, and recommendations effectively.
- Facilitate discussions with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Support the team in delivering reporting solutions aligned with business requirements.

Experience & Skill Set Requirements Business Intelligence & Report Development – 40%

- 2+ years of experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Paginated Report Builder.
