We are seeking a Sales Assistant to join our team at a commercial door and hardware supply company. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable working with customers, and interested in developing their knowledge of the commercial construction industry.

The Sales Assistant will support our sales team with day-to-day customer service, quoting, order processing, and coordination of commercial door, frame, and hardware orders.

Responsibilities

- Assist sales representatives with preparing quotes, estimates, and customer orders
- Respond to customer inquiries by phone and email
- Process purchase orders and sales orders accurately
- Assist customers with product availability, pricing, and order status
- Coordinate with suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times, and product information
- Review project documents, schedules, and hardware requirements as needed
- Help prepare material takeoffs and quotations for commercial projects
- Track orders and follow up on outstanding materials and deliveries
- Maintain accurate customer, project, and order information
- Work with the warehouse and delivery team to ensure orders are completed correctly
- Assist with resolving order discrepancies, shortages, and product issues
- Develop product knowledge of commercial doors, hollow metal frames, architectural hardware, locks, closers, exit devices, and related products
- Provide general administrative support to the sales team

Qualifications

- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Organized with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working with numbers, pricing, and basic calculations




- Able to manage multiple orders and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email
- Willingness to learn commercial doors, frames, and architectural hardware
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications is an asset
- Previous experience in construction supply, building materials, hardware, estimating, or inside sales is an asset but not required
