School Bus Driver

Route # 1 – Transports students to and from the Carberry Schools from an area west of Carberry.

Applicants must possess or be willing to attain a Class 2 License and a

School Bus Operator’s Certificate.

Duties to commence as agreed upon.

Successful applicants must complete a satisfactory Criminal Records and

Child Abuse Registry check.

Duties

- Safely operate school buses along designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by following proper loading, unloading, and seating procedures
- Communicate clearly with students, parents, school staff,



and dispatchers to coordinate schedules and address concerns
- Conduct routine inspections of the bus before and after routes to ensure mechanical safety and cleanliness
- Assist students with special needs or those requiring additional support, including senior care or multilingual communication
- Maintain accurate logs of routes, passenger counts, and any incidents or maintenance issues
- Promote a positive environment onboard by demonstrating excellent customer service skills and fostering respectful interactions

Skills

- Experience working with children or in educational settings is highly valued
- Strong communication skills for clear interaction with students, parents, and colleagueas
- Customer service orientation with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Commercial driving experience with a valid driver’s license appropriate for passenger vehicles
- Ability to handle multilingual situations sensitively and effectively
- Writing skills for completing reports, logs, and incident documentation
