Lead impactful climate initiatives in Yellowknife with the Government of Northwest Territories as a Senior Climate Change Scientist. Drive data-driven strategies and foster climate knowledge for a sustainable future. As a Senior Climate Change Scientist, you will manage a team within the Setting and Climate Change Department.
Your overarching goal is to develop and implement policies and programs that align with climate objectives. You will also oversee data acquisition, sharing, and analysis to inform critical decisions on climate change within the region. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of staff and contractors on climate initiatives
- Manage climate data network planning and enhancement
- Provide technical climate change advice on regulatory processes
- Conduct research and modeling on climate projections
- Improve climate change knowledge accessibility for NWT residents
Requirements:
- Graduate degree in climate or environmental science
- Minimum four years of relevant work experience
- At least two years of supervisory experience
- Experience in northern field-based research
- Valid NWT Class 5 Driver's License
