LLT is looking for an experienced Senior Controller on behalf of our client, an established and growing construction company based in Chilliwack, BC.
This is a senior financial leadership position reporting directly to the Owners. The Senior Controller will oversee the accounting department while acting as a trusted financial advisor to leadership. The successful candidate will provide insight into the financial health of the business and help guide important financial, operational, and investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
- Provide the Owners with clear financial analysis and advice to support business decisions.
- Analyze company and project performance and proactively identify financial risks and opportunities.
- Evaluate capital expenditures, equipment purchases, financing decisions, and other investments in the business.
- Lead, review, and support the work of the junior controller and accounting staff.
- Maintain strong internal controls and continuously improve accounting processes and reporting.
- Coordinate year-end activities and work with external accountants, tax advisors,
and financial institutions.
Qualifications
- CPA designation is required.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in the construction industry following completion of the CPA designation.
- 8-10 years overall accounting experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction accounting knowledge.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
- Previous experience supervising accounting staff and acting as a trusted financial advisor to leadership is an asset.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range $130K - $150K

This is not an entry-level Controller position. We are looking for an experienced financial professional who understands the construction industry, can see beyond the numbers, and is comfortable providing thoughtful and independent financial advice directly to ownership. Pay: $135,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
