$86,379.00 - $127,288.00 Per year An exciting opportunity exists with the Federal-Provincial Relations Unit in the Fiscal Policy Branch of the Office of the Budget!

Consider this position, where you will provide policy analysis and advice on federal-provincial fiscal arrangements, work with key partners to inform Ontario's intergovernmental strategy and support Ontario's financial relationships with the federal government and other provinces.

About the job

In this role, you will:

- develop strategic policy options on fiscal federalism
- analyze financial and economic data and prepare inter-provincial fiscal comparisons and analyses
- monitor and analyze fiscal and policy developments of the federal government and other provinces and advise on the implications of federal policies
- participate in budget processes and prepare written materials
- attend inter-ministerial and intergovernmental meetings

What you bring to the team

Research, Analytical and Quantitative Skills:

You can:

- Provide high-calibre research, critical thinking, and complex input into the federal-provincial policy development process
- Analyze and interpret complex sets of data
- Design and operate economic, financial and statistical models
- Develop work plans and provide advice on analytical approaches and quantitative techniques

Technical Skills:

You have:

- Knowledge of economics, public finance, public or business administration, political science, or a related discipline
- Ability to independently determine the best method of research and analysis to outline viable policy alternatives related to federal-provincial fiscal relations
- Knowledge of the policy development process and fiscal interactions between the federal government and the provinces

Communication, Organizational, Negotiation and Interpersonal Skills:

You can:

- Lead project teams and guide and co-ordinate work of others
- Plan and carry out complex assignments within tight deadlines
- Maintain effective contacts in the federal government,



other provinces and the private sector, as well as in other divisions and ministries
- Prepare and present various materials to senior management

Computer Skills:

You are:

- Proficient with computer programs and applications to store, share, model and present information
