You will work alongside all engineering functions to make significant contributions to the electrical design of our capital hardware and instrument including (but not limited to) power electronics, control systems, sensors, high-speed communication, redundancy and network architecture. Participates in the research and development of electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBA), and electrical systems for the Company's medical devices and associated capital hardware. Test designs at the PCA and system level using relevant test tools.
Clearly document analyses, architectural decisions, and test results. Takes part in planning, designing, development, testing, and design reviews of electronic and electrical systems for the Company's medical devices and associated capital hardware. Participate in and lead design reviews and analyses (safety, reliability, failure, etc.) to develop robust architectures driven by simulation, analysis, and testing.
Influence planning, timelines, and goals for projects including new technology and process development. Influence system architecture and participate in testing for medical safety and compliance per IEC60601-1 and related standards. Provides feedback on electrical test requirements to the manufacturing test team as required.
Coordinates with firmware teams on correct electrical system implementation in software. Utilizes test equipment to conduct experimental tests, evaluate electronic designs, and perform design verification. Creates test reports to document work results.
Embraces the Design Control process by participating in design reviews and maintaining design history files. Participates in evaluating the reliability of materials, properties and techniques used in production. Effectively collaborate with peers beyond electrical engineering.
Bachelor's degree with 10+ years, Masters with 8+ years, or other equivalent experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
Strong design experience with embedded systems, sensors, serial communication, and analog and digital electrical systems. Proficient in using common electrical test equipment, e.g., Bonus points for: Background in working in Optics, Robotics and/or Medical Device industry.
Experience working on systems containing various rigid & flexible PCAs connected with dynamic cabling (e.g. clock spring cabling, flex boards & FFCs, slip rings, etc.). Expertise in designing safety-critical and fail-secure systems, including isolation diagrams. Work at the intersection of advanced hardware engineering and life-changing medical technology.

The salary range for this position is $110,000-$140,000 annually.
