Senior Procurement Consultant

Location: Edmonton (onsite) Type: Full-time Contract (up to 6 months) All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada. The Position

Our Edmonton client is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Consultant to support the delivery of a defined portfolio of procurement projects during a period of elevated workload and workforce transition. This individual contributor role will provide short-term surge capacity to the sourcing team and will focus on executing planned procurement initiatives from procurement planning through contract award and implementation support. Working within a project delivery model, you will lead and facilitate procurement activities, provide strategic sourcing expertise, and ensure procurement processes are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation, trade agreements, organizational policies, and best practices.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies, manage competitive procurement processes, and support contract negotiations and implementation activities. If you are a procurement professional with strong public-sector sourcing experience and a proven ability to manage complex procurement projects from initiation through award, this is an excellent contract opportunity. What You'll Do

Procurement Planning &

- Strategy Lead procurement planning discussions with internal stakeholders to define business requirements, procurement strategies, timelines, and risk considerations. Develop sourcing plans that align with organizational objectives and procurement best practices.



Provide strategic procurement advice throughout the procurement lifecycle.

Competitive Procurement Delivery

Develop and facilitate competitive procurement processes including RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and related solicitation documents. Manage end-to-end sourcing events through an electronic procurement platform, including supplier communications, addenda issuance, evaluation coordination, and award recommendations. Ensure procurement activities are conducted in a fair, transparent, and defensible manner.

Contract

Development &

- Negotiation Support commercial negotiations with suppliers and vendors. Develop and review procurement and contract documentation. Assist stakeholders in achieving favorable procurement outcomes while managing risk. Compliance &
- Governance Ensure compliance with applicable public procurement legislation, trade agreement obligations, organizational policies, and procurement standards. Prepare procurement records, recommendations, and supporting documentation required to complete procurement projects. Maintain accurate procurement files and audit-ready documentation. Implementation &




- Stakeholder Support Assist with transition and implementation activities following contract award. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support successful contract execution and vendor onboarding. Foster robust working relationships with business units and project teams.

Mandatories

Significant experience leading public-sector procurement projects from planning through contract award. Strong experience drafting, facilitating, and managing RFx processes, including evaluations and award recommendations. Demonstrated negotiation and contract development experience. Knowledge of Canadian public procurement legislation, trade agreements, and procurement best practices.

Experience working within post-secondary education, government, healthcare, municipal, or broader public-sector environments.

Experience using electronic sourcing and procurement systems. Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship management skills. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to manage multiple procurement initiatives concurrently while meeting deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Assets

Include SCMP, CPPB, CPPO, or other recognized procurement designation.

Experience with Euna Procurement (formerly Bonfire) or similar electronic procurement platforms.

Experience supporting large, complex procurement initiatives involving multiple stakeholders. Knowledge of contract lifecycle management processes and vendor performance management.
