The Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) at Northern Lights Regional Health Centre (NLRHC) is responsible for the cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, inspection, assembly, storage, and distribution of reusable medical devices and surgical instruments. The MDRD plays a critical role in infection prevention and patient safety by ensuring all medical equipment is processed according to established standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturer instructions. The MDRD at NLRHC is a busy, rapid-paced and very detail-oriented department.

As a Service Worker I within the Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD), you will be responsible for but not limited to the following: Retrieves all used (contaminated) equipment, case carts and instrumentation and delivers to MDRD. Loading/unloading washers/disinfectors and cart washers in accordance with established procedures and infection prevention and control standards. Prepare, organize, and distribute clean surgical instrumentation to designated areas.

Picking instruments for OR case carts. Support daily MDRD operations by performing assigned duties, while adhering to safety, quality assurance and infection control standards. Contribute to an efficient workflow by ensuring equipment, carts and instrumentation are processed accurate and in a timely manner.

In addition to a competitive rate of pay,



AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description

As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts.

You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.
