I'm trying to build something different.

705 Handyman is a small, growing home improvement and property maintenance company serving Barrie and Simcoe County. Right now, it's me, another guy, and a growing list of work.

And I'm looking for someone who wants to become a big part of it.

WHO I'M LOOKING FOR

I'm not looking for someone who already knows how to do everything.

I'm looking for someone who wants to learn how to do everything.

I need a strong, capable right-hand man — someone I can teach, trust, and eventually rely on to take on more responsibility.

You should be someone who:

- Has solid basic construction skills and knows how to use tools properly
- Can measure, cut, install, and build things with confidence
- Understands basic construction practices and can figure things out
- Picks things up quickly and takes notes so they don't have to ask the same questions three times.
- Can teach yourself when you don't know something — yes, watching a YouTube video and figuring it out counts
- Takes initiative instead of waiting around to be told what to do
- Is genuinely motivated to improve their skills and their life
- Has goals for themselves and actually wants to pursue them
- Takes pride in doing things properly
- Can work independently when needed
- Is reliable, punctual, and willing to put in the effort

Maybe your goal is to become a better tradesman.

Maybe you want to eventually run your own business.

Maybe you just want to build a better life for yourself.

Whatever your goal is, I want someone who is actually working toward it.

WHAT WE DO

Every week is different.

You'll get hands-on experience with things like:

You don't need to be an expert in all of these.

You need to be willing to learn.

If you know how to use a tape measure, saw, drill, and the rest of the basic tools of the trade — and you're valuable at figuring out how things go together — you're already off to a good start.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

This isn't a massive company with layers of management between you and the owner.

You'll work directly with me.

I'll teach you what I know, give you opportunities to learn new skills, and expect you to take on more responsibility as you develop.

THE NON-NEGOTIABLES
- Construction, trades, renovation, or maintenance experience
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Comfortable travelling throughout Barrie and Simcoe County
- Comfortable working at 20–40 ft heights, including ladders and rooftops
- Able to lift up to 100 lbs
- Able to work outdoors in all seasons
- Reliable and able to work independently
- Strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn
