The Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented Structural Drafter to join our engineering team. You'll prepare structural drawings and construction documents for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, working in AutoCAD and Tekla Structures alongside our structural engineers.

The work is diverse: steel, concrete, and wood-frame structures, connection detailing, and coordination with fabricators and contractors who build from your drawings.

What You'll Do

-Prepare structural plans, sections, elevations, details, and connection drawings from engineering designs and specifications

-Produce and modify 2D drawings in AutoCAD

-Develop and maintain 3D structural models and drawings in Tekla Structures

Incorporate engineers' markups, design changes, and revisions

-Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines

-Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements

-Work with project teams, consultants, contractors, and fabricators as needed

-Maintain drawing standards, templates, and document control procedures

What You Bring





-Diploma or certificate in Structural Drafting, Civil/Structural Engineering Technology, or a related field

-Previous structural drafting or detailing experience (required)

-Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; Tekla Structures experience strongly preferred

-Ability to read and interpret structural engineering drawings, plans, and specifications

-Working knowledge of structural systems, materials, and construction methods

-Sharp attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at once

-Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable working independently and within a multidisciplinary team

-Valid Class 5 driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle

Nice to Have

-Experience detailing structural steel and connections

-Familiarity with the BC Building Code and Canadian drafting standards

-Experience working with engineering consultants, fabricators, and contractors

-Background across steel, concrete, and wood-frame construction
