We operate an Indian restaurant in Mississauga & Etobicoke are seeking a dedicated Waiter Staff/Kitchen Helper to join our team in supporting daily food service operations. This role is vital in ensuring smooth kitchen functions, maintaining high standards of food safety, and providing excellent service to our customers.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong work ethic, contributing to a clean, efficient, and welcoming environment.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, assembling ingredients, and basic cooking tasks
- Support the cooking team by preparing ingredients and maintaining station cleanliness
- Help with food handling and storage to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Serve food to customers in a timely and courteous manner
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Follow all food safety protocols and hygiene standards diligently
- Support meal preparation during busy periods and assist with inventory management as needed
- Ensure proper disposal of waste and adherence to sanitation procedures
Experience
- Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food handling and safety practices is advantageous
- Experience with food preparation, cooking, or kitchen operations is a plus
- Familiarity with the food industry standards for cleanliness, safety, and customer service is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Robust teamwork skills and willingness to learn recent skills are essential
