Cedar Creek Childcare Centre - Smithville is currently accepting applications for Casual Supply RECE/ECA.
What will you be doing:
As a Supply Early Childhood Educator, you will work side-by-side with other teachers to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:
- Help implement daily programming in line with Creek’s curriculum that supports and promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children.
- Observe and assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress with parents, guardians and supervisor
- Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
- Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
- Adhere to all centre policies and procedures
- Follow all guidelines according to Ministry of Education CCEYA and “how does learning happen” pedagogy
- RECE Supply Rate: $24.00 ($21.00+$2.00+$1.00)
- Non-RECE Supply Rate: $22.00 ($19.00 + $2.00 + $1.00)
Qualifications
- Applicants must have a current Vulnerable Sector Check from the Regional police (within the last 6 months)
- Applicants must have a Current Standard C CPR/ First Aid Certification
- Applicants must have or be willing to get their Food Handlers Certification
- Good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators is an asset
- Experience in a childcare setting is a must
- Strong interpersonal skills to gain trust and respect of children and their parents
- Demonstrate skills working as a team and enjoy a team environment
- The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Fluent oral and written English language communication skills;
- Knowledge of HiMama/Lillio an asset
- Supply staff must be available a minimum of 3 days per week for casual on-call shifts or pre-booked vacations

Additional information:
This is an on-call, supply position. Hours are not guaranteed.
Centre is open Monday to Friday, all shifts ranging between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm. Centre is Closed all Statutory Holidays, First week of Summer, and First week of Christmas Holiday.
