The Thrift Store Associate is responsible for assisting the Thrift Store Manager and Volunteers with all aspects of the Thrift Store operation including providing guidance and support to volunteers, acceptance of donations, sorting pricing, and merchandising, cash management, facility maintenance and cleanliness as well as excellent customer service and fostering donor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Register Operations: Operate the cash register efficiently, handling transactions and providing excellent customer service.
Donation Management: Receive and sort donations, ensuring items are processed accurately and efficiently. Driving the store van to pick up and deliver merchandise.
Pricing: Price items according to store guidelines, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Electronics Testing: Test electronic items to verify functionality before they are placed on the sales floor.
Store Maintenance: Perform cleaning and upkeep tasks to maintain a tidy and organized store environment.
Furniture Handling:
Assist with loading and unloading furniture items as needed.
Staging and Organization: Stage merchandise attractively and organize store displays to enhance shopping experiences.
Skill Set
One-year prior retail experience.
Is self-motivated and able to work independently.
Proactive, punctual, and reliable.
Exhibits excellent customer service skills. Must have or be able to obtain a Criminal Record Check.
Required to stand or sit for extended periods of time during performance of duties.
Physically able to meet the duties of the job including lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and experience working with a diverse population are essential.
Drivers License with a explicit drivers abstract
Pay: $16.00-$17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 17.0 per week
