Position Title: Transfer Press Operator (Union Position)

Reports To: Production Supervisor, Plant Superintendent & Automation & Maintenance Engineering Manager

Position Overview:

The Transfer Press Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient setup, operation, monitoring, and support of transfer press systems used in the production of stamped metal components. This role involves operating presses, transferring blanks through die stations, adjusting transfer equipment, and monitoring production to ensure quality, productivity, and safety standards are consistently met.

Requirements:

- Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner in compliance with company health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Operate transfer presses, including running progressive stamping presses and hand-transferring blanks through die stations as required.
- Power up, operate, and safely shut down presses, transfer systems, and related control systems in accordance with established procedures.
- Use ERP/MRP systems (e.g., ShopEdge) to assign and unassign material, transfer work-in-process (WIP), and manage serial numbers as required
- Complete die setup sheets, reprint tags, and resolve labeling discrepancies in accordance with procedures.
- Read, understand, and follow step-by-step work instruction manuals and job documentation.

Qualifications:

- Ability to perform heavy manual labour,



including bolting dies into presses and handling tooling and equipment safely.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain a cooperative, supportive work attitude.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and additional hours when required by production needs.
- Team player and promoter of “what can I do to help” attitude

Work Conditions:

- Environment includes an expansive warehouse, where the temperatures range from 45 degrees to 80+ degrees (except office areas).
- The background noise approaches 90 db. and ear plugs are required
- Must be capable of lifting to 50 lbs.
- Dirty working environment including oil and dirt from material and presses
- Steel toe boots and safety glasses must be always worn on warehouse floor.
- Exposure to moving machinery, sharp edges, and metal components.
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
- Repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements.
- Standing and walking for extended periods during the shift.
- Exposure to oil, lubricants, fumes, and airborne metal particles.
- Shift work, overtime, and weekend work as required by production schedules.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $21.08 per hour
