We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Utility Tree Trimmer / Certified Utility Arborist to join our team and help maintain the safety, reliability, and aesthetic appeal of utility infrastructure. In this vital role, you will perform tree trimming, pruning, and removal activities around power lines and utility assets, ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry best practices. Responsibilities
- Safely operate specialized equipment such as chainsaws, bucket trucks, chippers, and rigging gear to trim or remove trees near utility lines
- Conduct thorough inspections of trees and surrounding areas to identify hazards or potential risks to utility infrastructure
- Prune trees and vegetation in accordance with industry standards to promote healthy growth while maintaining clearance from power lines
- Assist in the planning and execution of complex tree removal projects, including rigging and climbing techniques
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and protected work practices at all times
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate daily tasks efficiently and ensure project deadlines are met
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including locations, procedures followed, and equipment used
Skills
- Proven experience in arboriculture or tree trimming with a focus on utility line clearance
- Certification as a Utility Arborist or equivalent credential demonstrating specialized knowledge in utility vegetation management
- Strong understanding of horticulture principles, including irrigation, gardening, and landscape maintenance techniques
- Construction experience related to outdoor project work or infrastructure development is highly desirable
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising teams or projects in outdoor environments
- Excellent knowledge of safety standards applicable to utility work and tree trimming operations
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently while maintaining awareness of surroundings
