About this role
We are recruiting for a VDC Technician to join our Pre-Planning team.
As a VDC Technician, you will work closely with our electrical planners and project teams to create and maintain accurate electrical models and construction documentation. This position is well suited to someone who enjoys detailed technical work, collaborates effectively with others, and is interested in developing their knowledge of electrical construction and Building Information Modelling.
You will receive support and training in Houle's tools, standards, and workflows. Previous experience or knowledge of electrical design, coordination, construction, prefabrication, or field installation is considered a strong asset.

Your responsibilities
- Create and maintain electrical models using Revit
- Support electrical planners with model development, drafting, coordination, and construction documentation
- Model electrical systems and components such as conduit, cable tray, equipment, lighting, and in-wall devices
- Review design and construction drawings and incorporate required information into project models
- Assist with model coordination, clash resolution, and drawing updates
- Prepare model-based information and installation packages to support project teams, prefabrication, and field installation
- Follow established Revit standards, project requirements, and department workflows
- Communicate questions, missing information, and modelling concerns to the appropriate team members
- Learn and use project software such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revizto, and GTP Stratus
- Participate in training and contribute practical suggestions for improving day-to-day workflows
Your experience and skills
- Experience using Revit in an educational, professional, or construction environment
- Ability to read and interpret design and construction drawings
- Experience or knowledge of electrical design, electrical construction, prefabrication, or field installation is a strong asset
- Experience modelling electrical systems such as conduit, cable tray, lighting, equipment, or in-wall devices is an asset
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, Revizto, or GTP Stratus is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and an interest in producing accurate, constructible models
- Ability to organize assigned work and manage changing priorities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, and learn established processes
- A practical, dependable, and problem-solving approach to work

Hourly Range: $28.00 - $42.00 per hour, plus a competitive total compensation package. Actual hourly pay rate will depend on your experience, skills and overall match to the position offered.
