Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Receptionist

Eighth Avenue Animal Hospital is a newly opening small animal veterinary clinic in New Westminster, BC, seeking a versatile and compassionate Veterinary Assistant / Client Care Representative (Receptionist) to join our team.

We are a modern, fast-paced clinic focused on high-quality veterinary care, excellent client communication, and strong teamwork. We are open 7 days a week with rotating shifts.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands-on animal care and client-facing front desk work.

ResponsibilitiesClient Care / Reception Duties

- Greet clients and provide friendly, professional front-desk service
- Answer phone calls, emails, and schedule veterinary appointments
- Process payments, invoices, and estimates
- Manage patient records and support clinic workflow
- Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area

Veterinary Assistant Duties
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams and procedures
- Safely handle and restrain animals
- Prepare exam rooms, surgical packs,



and equipment
- Assist with patient monitoring and basic nursing care
- Clean and maintain treatment, kennel, and surgical areas

Requirements
- Passion for animal care and veterinary medicine
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats
- Basic computer skills
- Team-oriented, reliable, and professional attitude
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, shelter, or medical office is an asset (not required)

Compensation $19–$22/hour depending on experience

Full-time and part time positions available

Open 7 days a week (rotating shifts)
