About The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland The confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers has been a place of significance to Indigenous peoples long before 1875, when the North-West Mounted Police established a site of colonial occupation called Fort Calgary and prepared the way for a new settler-colonial community. About the Role The Confluence is seeking multiple Program Facilitators (Evening/Overnight) to run a variety of youth programs. In this dynamic role, you’ll lead evening, overnight, and weekend programming for youth groups and families, including evening programs, sleepovers, and youth birthday parties. You’ll help create fun, engaging, and educational experiences for participants of all ages.

What Will You Do?

- Work collaboratively with team members to set up, deliver and clean up after evening/overnight programs.
- Lead and modify programs and activities.
- Actively lead and engage with youth during their visit at The Confluence.
- Communicate professionally with adult leaders/guardians about program.
- Assess and manage risk while running activities.
- Respond in a professional and calm manner when resolving issues.
- React quickly and responsibly to emergency situations.
- Manage stressful situations calmly and effectively.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

- Minimum age requirement is 18 years old.
- Have at least two year of experience supervising children in a formal or informal learning environment.
- Current Level 1 Emergency First Aid & CPR Certificate.




- Having overnight program experience is considered an asset
- Highly energetic, creative, and spontaneous, with contagious enthusiasm.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations.
- Enjoy working with youth.
- Robust interpersonal, communication and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of Canadian settler-colonialism history and Indigenous relations is considered an asset.

Availability Requirements

- This is an onsite position, with availability required in the evenings (weekdays) and weekends from October-December 2026 and February-June 2027 and overnight (weekends), January – April 2027.
- Evening Program shifts will be within the hours of 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm and overnight program shifts being 5:30 pm-10:30 am.
- Available at least 2 weekends a month and flexible weekday evening schedule.
- Facilitators must be available to attend required training sessions, including evening program and youth birthday party training in early October 2026 and a separate sleepover training session in January 2027.
