The Prospect
DF Barnes Industrial is currently seeking an experienced Coatings Technician to join our highly skilled team supporting maintenance operations at the Vale Long Harbour site.
Job Duties
- Select appropriate coatings and other related mixes required for determined repairs
- Work with different coatings materials such as fusion-bonded epoxy, polyethylene, or polyurethane
- Operate or tend equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, or otherwise prepare items for applications of protective coatings
- Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment
- Apply protective coatings to pipelines
- Monitor the application process to ensure even distribution of coatings
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to comply with health and safety regulations
Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Vocational training in a related field
- Knowledge of industrial technology would be beneficial
