Line Cook – Full-Time

About the Position:

Kozak Ukrainian Eatery is hiring a full time Line Cook for our Victoria Drive location.

This is a fast-paced restaurant kitchen position involving food preparation, cooking menu items during service and maintaining an organized workstation. Consistency, speed, attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Previous professional kitchen experience is an asset but is not required. We are looking for someone who works quickly, stays organized, follows instructions and enjoys working as part of a team. Training on our recipes, procedures and equipment will be provided on the job.

Schedule and Availability

Full availability is required. Shifts may include:

- Morning shifts
- Evening shifts
- Weekdays
- Weekends
- Statutory holidays

Applicants must be available for any shift based on the kitchen schedule. This position is not suitable for candidates with only morning, evening or limited-day availability.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and plating standards
- Complete daily food preparation to support restaurant service
- Set up and organize the workstation before each shift
- Work quickly during busy service periods while maintaining quality and consistency
- Follow recipe quantities, cooking times and preparation instructions
- Maintain portion and presentation standards
- Label, date, rotate and store food correctly
- Follow food-safety and sanitation procedures
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas
- Communicate shortages, delays, mistakes and equipment problems to the kitchen team
- Assist with other kitchen duties as needed

Requirements

- Full availability for morning, evening, weekday, weekend and statutory-holiday shifts




- Ability to work quickly while maintaining consistency and quality
- Ability to follow recipes, procedures and verbal instructions
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to stay organized while completing multiple tasks
- Willingness to learn and accept feedback
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to safely use knives and commercial kitchen equipment after training
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to safely lift items when required, with reasonable accommodation

Previous professional kitchen experience is an asset but is not required.

- Base wage of $19–$22 per hour, based on relevant experience and demonstrated skills, plus tips
