Job Posting –Estate Planning, Probate and Estate Administration Senior Legal Assistant or Junior Paralegal

Position will be at our downtown Vancouver location, with some flexibility to having a hybrid role, working part-time from home.
We are looking to hire a regular part time or full-time Senior Legal Assistant or Junior Paralegal who will have the following duties/responsibilities:
1. Client intake for new potential clients;
1. Client identification and verification tasks;
1. Onboarding new clients;
1. Drafting letters and other documents from templates;
1. Corresponding with third parties regarding information/document requests;
1. Drafting probate application documents, from templates;
1. Filing applications with the probate registry - online or through a filing agent;
1. Commissioning affidavits with clients (having commissioners licence/stamp would be an asset);
1. Knowledge and experience with the probate process and the estate administration process would be an asset;
1. Organizing digital and paper file documents (saving and naming files consistently, foldering, etc);
1. Drafting estate planning documents,
such as wills, enduring power of attorney agreements, and representation agreements, from templates;
1. Coordinating client appointments;
1. Managing and keeping up-to-date task lists/file statuses;
1. Filing Notice to Creditors in the BC Gazette;
1. Preparing Reporting letters from templates and incorporating notes from the file;
1. Managing own time keeping with requisite detail and a value-oriented approach/style;
1. Performing BC Online searches for corporate summaries, title search and PPSA searches;
1. Preparing authorizations/FOI documents on clients’ behalf;
1. Stripping/closing files;
1. Performing wills notice and other searches from Vital Statistics;
1. Working with outside vendors such as couriers and agents;
1. File management including assistance with review of bills, drafting invoice cover letters, and managing monetary retainers and their replenishment; and
1. Generally, assisting in a variety of administrative tasks as they arise.
Qualified candidates will have attained a Legal Assistant or Paralegal Certificate or Diploma and have at least 2 years experience working in a legal administration role. Please provide a cover letter, resume, list of references and transcripts to
