Join the Union of Nova Scotia Mi'kmaq as a Project Manager for the Regional Data Centre, focused on data sovereignty and cultural preservation. This full-time role requires leading project planning and implementation.
The successful candidate will report to the Governance Manager in either Membertou or Cole Harbour, managing a two-year project with possible extension. You will be instrumental in establishing a Regional Data Centre that empowers Mi'kmaq communities by advancing data governance and infrastructure.
Proficiency in stakeholder engagement, budget management, and risk assessment are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the Regional Data Centre initiative
- Advance community-driven data governance practices
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Coordinate meetings and document project progress
- Ensure compliance with Indigenous data governance frameworks
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in relevant fields or equivalent experience
- 5+ years managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools
- Robust understanding of Indigenous data sovereignty
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
