SAP IS-U Billing Functional Consultant

Location - Toronto

Contract Duration – 6 Months ( Can get extended to Year )

Work Model - Hybrid

Travel – Onsite Toronto Client Location ( Once/month)

Position Summary

The SAP IS-U Billing Functional Consultant will be responsible for supporting the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of SAP IS-U Billing solutions. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and offshore resources to ensure successful delivery of billing-related project objectives. This role requires strong functional expertise in SAP IS-U Billing, testing, defect management, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement & Workshops

- Facilitate client workshops and business requirement gathering sessions related to SAP IS-U Billing processes.
- Collaborate with business users and project stakeholders to clarify requirements and recommend solution approaches.
- Provide functional expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Solution Design & Documentation

- Develop project deliverables, including:
- Facilitation Documents
- Functional Specifications
- Configuration Documents
- Process Flow Documentation
- Ensure all documentation aligns with project standards and client requirements.

Configuration & Testing

- Configure SAP IS-U Billing functionality in accordance with approved business requirements.
- Prepare and complete:
- Configuration Unit Test Documents
- Functional Unit Test Documents




- Support end-to-end testing activities and validate billing processes.

System Integration Testing (SIT)

- Execute SIT test scripts and document test results.
- Validate functional requirements and ensure successful integration with related SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Support defect identification, analysis, and resolution during testing cycles.

Offshore Team Support

- Provide functional guidance and support to offshore team members working in the SAP IS-U Billing area.
- Review deliverables and ensure quality and consistency across the team.

Defect Management

- Triage, analyze, and resolve defects related to SAP IS-U Billing functionality.
- Coordinate with technical and functional teams to drive timely defect resolution.

Cutover & Deployment Support

- Collaborate with project leads on:
- Cutover planning and execution
- CDR (Conversion/Data Reconciliation) runs
- Testing coordination and readiness activities
- Support production deployment and post-go-live stabilization activities.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong experience in SAP IS-U Billing configuration and business processes.
- Experience preparing functional specifications and configuration documentation.
- Hands-on experience with SIT, UAT, and defect management.
- Understanding of utility industry processes and billing operations.
- Robust client-facing communication and workshop facilitation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with onshore and offshore teams.
