We are currently looking to hire our next great team member for the position of Shop Technician / Mechanic located in Charlottetown, PEI. This is an ideal opportunity for a Red Seal Mechanic who takes pride in quality workmanship, safe repair practices, and keeping equipment rental-ready.

*What You'll Do*

As a Shop Technician / Mechanic, you'll play a key role in keeping our aerial lift, material-handling, small engine, and related rental fleet safe, compliant, reliable, and ready to support customers and branch operations.

* Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair aerial lifts, material-handling equipment, small engines, and related rental fleet assets.
* Perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel-system diagnostics using schematics, OEM guidance, and approved troubleshooting practices.
* Complete preventive maintenance services, inspections, scheduled repairs, and rental-readiness checks in line with company and manufacturer standards.
* Execute internal repair orders, customer work orders, and service requests while accurately documenting labour time, parts usage, repair notes, and follow-up needs.
* Recondition, replace, and install parts and components on heavy equipment and related machinery.
* Identify wear, hazards, safety concerns, recurring defects, and potential equipment failures,



then communicate required repairs or delays to the Service Manager or designate.
* Collaborate with Service, Parts, Dispatch, Sales, and branch team members to support equipment availability, urgent customer repairs, and branch priorities.
* Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and compliant workspace by following shop housekeeping, 5S, tool care, PPE, and safe work expectations.

*Qualifications*

*Required*

* Red Seal Journeyperson Mechanic certification in a related trade, such as Heavy Equipment Technician, Truck and Transport Mechanic, Agricultural Equipment Technician, or a comparable mechanical trade.
* Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems.
* Experience repairing equipment, vehicles, heavy equipment, forklifts, aerial lifts, small engines, material-handling equipment, or similar machinery.




* Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely in a shop and yard environment.
* Ability to work legally in Canada.

*Preferred*

* Experience in equipment rental, construction, industrial equipment, material handling, aerial lift, forklift, or heavy equipment service environments.
* Familiarity with OEM repair standards, preventive maintenance schedules, warranty/service documentation, fleet readiness expectations, and work order systems.
* Additional equipment, safety, forklift, aerial lift, or manufacturer training is considered an asset.
* Experience working with service, inventory, rental, or work order systems is considered an asset.
