Reporting to the Senior Regional Drinking Water Officer, the incumbent is responsible for licensing and monitoring water systems including through onsite inspections and sampling; working with Medical Officers of Health to issue and rescind water quality advisories; tracking offencesand enforcing compliance by issuing letters of direction,



warnings and tickets in accordance with a progressive enforcement strategy; providing guidance and technical expertise about drinking water safety to water suppliers and the public; and contributing to special projects such as policy or procedure development.QualificationsPost secondary degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Biological Science, Engineering, or related discipline, with relevant experience or a suitable equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Experience assessing scientific and technical data and documents in a work or academic environment.Demonstrated ability to undertake compliance, inspections and enforcement activities.Strong problem solving and analytical skills.Robust interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships in a team environment.Strong verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.Strong written communication skills including experience drafting technical reports and correspondence.Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.Experience using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook)
