The OpportunityOcean Front Village | Courtenay, BCPosition Type: Permanent, Full-Time (1.00 FTE)Schedule: Days (8:00 – 17:00)At Golden Life, you’ll be part of a trusted, values-driven team providing care and services to seniors in a welcoming Village setting. We’re looking for a Dietitian who is organized, practical, and focused on delivering strong clinical nutrition care while supporting quality meal service.The RoleThe Dietitian is an active member of the multidisciplinary care team and works closely with nursing, recreation, and food service staff to support resident health and well-being.This role focuses on hands-on clinical care – completing assessments, developing care plans, and monitoring outcomes – while also supporting safe, consistent, and respectful meal service. The Dietitian plays a key role in ensuring residents receive the nutrition they need in a way that maintains dignity and quality of life.The Dietitian also provides leadership for nutrition care and long‑term care meal service, supporting staff performance and accountability in collaboration with the Kitchen Manager and site leadership.What You’ll DoComplete nutritional assessments for all recent residents prior to care conferencesDevelop, implement, and maintain individualized nutrition care plansSet nutrition goals with residents and monitor progress over timeReassess residents’ nutritional status (quarterly, annually, and as needed)Provide nutrition counselling to residents and familiesSupport chronic disease management through practical, individualized care plansLead dysphagia management and ensure safe swallowing practicesEnsure texture modified diets meet required standards and reflect the daily menuReview and interpret diet orders,



recommending adjustments when appropriateSupport and monitor enteral nutrition where applicableParticipate in interdisciplinary care conferences when there are nutrition concernsAct as a resource to staff for day-to-day nutrition questions and resident needsProvide education to staff on:Texture modificationSafe feeding and positioningDining with dignity practicesMonitor food preparation and meal service to ensure:Meals match posted menus and prescribed dietsFood is served safely and at appropriate temperaturesResident preferences and substitutions are respectedConduct regular meal service observations and provide practical feedback to the kitchen teamWork closely with the Kitchen Manager to support consistent, quality food serviceParticipate in quality improvement activities related to nutrition care and meal serviceProvide input into menu planning to support nutritional adequacy and resident needsLeadership & Team OversightProvides leadership and direction to food service staff supporting long‑term care by setting clear expectations and reinforcing standards for meal service, texture modification, and safe food practicesWorks in partnership with the Kitchen Manager to coordinate staffing, training, and day-to-day operations across long-term care and independent living dining servicesMonitors staff performance related to nutrition care and meal service in long-term care, providing coaching, feedback, and follow-up as neededParticipates in staff recruitment, orientation, and training to support consistent practice and strong team performanceSupports performance management processes, including contributing to evaluations, addressing performance concerns,



and participating in disciplinary processes up to and including termination in collaboration with site leadershipProvides day-to-day clinical direction to staff to ensure resident nutrition needs are met safely and consistentlyWhat You’ll BringBaccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics. Successful completion of an accredited hospital‑based dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility).Full licensee as a Registered Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).One year of clinical nutrition experience in a health care environment preferred.Strong understanding of:Dysphagia and texture modificationChronic disease nutrition managementMeal service standards in care settingsClear and practical communication skillsStrong organization and follow-throughAbility to work independently while collaborating with the care teamSuccessful clearance of a Vulnerable Sector – Criminal Record Check.TB Screening and Immunization Record.What We OfferCompetitive salary range between $40.75 – $50.87 and comprehensive benefits package.Stable, full-time position in an established VillageSupportive team environment with strong leadershipOpportunity to make a direct impact on resident quality of lifeAbout Ocean Front VillageAt Ocean Front Village, we believe exceptional care and service starts with exceptional environments – for both residents and staff.
